Texas Ranks No. 1 for Workforce in 2026

The News: CNBC ranked Texas as the nation’s best state for workforce in 2026, awarding it 276 out of 345 points and an A+ grade. The state has 104 available workers for every 100 open jobs, ranks third for the net migration of college-educated workers and leads the country in its pipeline of high-school career and vocational students.

Project Watch Take: Workforce availability remains one of the strongest filters in corporate site selection. Texas combines labor-market scale, continued talent migration and career-focused training, giving it a significant advantage when competing for projects that require large numbers of skilled workers.
